I waited a few weeks to post this review so it could be based on service performance and customer service. We have a combination of brand new sod and sod that was laid in the fall. We are in a new home and I was unfamiliar with this climate being from another state originally. I used the Pied Piper Pest control service first after reading recommendations on Facebook. The man (Joey) lived in my town and I wanted to use a company that we smaller and local. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and spent time talking to me about the issues I had, what I could do on my own in between his visits and encouraged me to call if I still needed treatments. He seemed very trustworthy.
For lawn service I had signed up with another nationwide well known company originally but after 3 weeks of cancellations (some no shows), I cancelled the service and got a refund. I contacted Pied Piper for lawn service as well. Ben came out and gave me an estimate, and spoke with me about issues he saw. The large company in the mean time had sent a salesman to our neighborhood. He stopped at my house and proceeded to blow way out of proportion that my shrubs were covered in fungus, potential bug issues, etc.. My quote from the large company was $200 more!!! Ben shared that he would keep an eye on the fungus but recommended a water schedule. He also gave times on watching for aphids that my crepe myrtle was prone to and treatments I could used if I wanted to do parts on my own. That is how you keep a customer! I have never used a lawn service before. I have always done it on my own with great success. But, being in a new state I really appreciate his knowledge and willingness to share with me. It helps me take the best care of my investment (new lawn and trees) within a budget that I can be happy about. They are trustworthy and I don't feel paranoid I am always trying to be upsold. Thank you!
