*PLEASE READ* Unfortunate Experience. My girlfriend was bucked off a horse at this establishment this weekend. We are extremely thankful that she's okay and that the accident wasn't any worse. I believe this to be a good place for semi-experienced/ experienced people with horses to go. You could tell that the young girls(looked barely over 19) that led us on the trails were experienced riders and they talked often about riding horses their whole lives... given that statement - they did not take us riding as 'first-time' and 'first time in awhile' people since they are used to this. There was not a whole lot of training or warnings in the beginning at all. Just some brief statements about the horses and their behavior. We all got on our horses and started the trail. Not a 100 yards into it - my horse was not cooperating at all. After one of the girls called their mother (who I understand to own the place) and told her what was going on, we then turned around and went to get me another horse. It was clear that there was a lack of control right then. After getting a new horse and catching up with the group - there was some trouble on the trail. We were accompanied by other customers - 2 middle aged women and one of their daughters (maybe 8 or 9). Her horse kept going off of the trail and not cooperating. After repeating that process quite a bit, the experience was just becoming chaotic and felt like "if we can all just get through the trail, we'll be fine. " Not to mention there were 2 or 3 dogs running around the horses feet nearly the whole time! Throughout the trail- I looked back to check on my girlfriend and ask how she was doing... when I did, I noticed that the young girl in the back was on her cell phone. One of the young girls leading in the middle of the group even commented on it once- teasing her about a boyfriend. Once again- we all stopped because one of the horses were not cooperating. According to my girlfriend - a few times that evening the young girl in the back had made a comment about her horse being ornery and BITING. Well this particular time when we stopped, the young girls' horse in the back BIT my girlfriend's horse causing it to BUCK her off! After a few heart stopping moments, we realized she was okay. The girls ask if she was alright but never offered to switch horses, never offered to walk her back... Simply asked if she wanted to get back on the horse. My girlfriend, being the trooper she is was making light of the situation and got back on the horse as she was shaking. After we finally got back to the ranch- the mother or an *ADULT* never came up to offer an apology. The girls asked her if she was okay again and then ask how we were paying. (Full price for an hour). I guess the fact of the matter is - I believe this could have been avoided if there was more control. ESPECIALLY if the young girl in the back was paying more attention. I think these people probably have the best intentions. They seemed nice, but in our opinion- this place LACKS PROFESSIONALISM. We are just thankful that it wasn't the tiny girl (8 or 9 year old) that got bucked off. Her tiny frame could have easily been hurt much worse.
Really nice people but have to follow one of the staff when you ride and its only a slow walk the whole time. But great staff really nice girls
