We were here 2 weeks ago. Cedar lake horse camp must be under new management because our experience was terrible. We only stayed 3 days in that time the grass was above my knees , the garbage was already overflowing and the horse shavings piled up beside the road they never picked either one up the whole time we were there. The tree limps where overgrown over the roads throughout the camp made it hard to get down them without doing damages to our truck and trailer. We put this camp ground on our never again list . we had so many high hopes for a trip of a lifetime we drove 12 hrs. To get there and was TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED.......

Cedar Lake has over 90 miles of equestrian trails and over 40 campsites for equestrian campers only. In other words, it's a VERY BIG place. OETRA (Oklahoma Equestrian Trail Riders Association) with the advice and permission from the NFS, does all of the trial maintenance, including the yellow metal signs that a member created. The previous remarks had a lot to do with the few numbers of NF employees. Several retired during 2019, and the park also closed for almost a year for latrine repairs. What is said in the above comment could be true, but I do believe their visit fell during a very difficult period. Chances are the forest employees were not keeping up the camp because it was about to close. And then Covid...everything, including all NFS parks across the country shut down. Please take my word for it; if you're an avid trail rider YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS PLACE. It is by far the best campground and trail system east of Tennesee.
